Advisory Board Selected For Inaugural Integrated Security Conference & Expo
FRAMINGHAM, MA – APRIL 22, 2003 – IDG World Expo, the leading producer of world-class tradeshows, conferences and events for technology markets, today announced the formation of a conference advisory board for the upcoming Integrated Security Conference & Expo. This new event will address the increasing need for centralized integration of IT, physical and business security, and the challenges faced by senior business and IT security professionals looking to create a comprehensive security infrastructure.
Integrated Security Conference & Expo will take place October 8-10, 2003 in Washington, D.C. at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center. The event will attract CSOs, CIOs, CISOs, CEOs, COOs, CFOs, network security managers, risk managers, facility and operations executives and other senior business and IT professionals.
The conference advisory board will ensure that Integrated Security Conference & Expo focuses on today's principal business and technical issues as the integration of IT, physical and business security becomes a necessity within private-sector enterprises as well as government agencies. The advisors will also develop content that explores the integration and utilization of security policy, processes, technology and best practices.
Advisory board members include:
Bob Bragdon, Publisher, CSO
Allan Carey, Program Manager/Information Security Services, IDC
Dan Meacham, Information Security Officer, Baylor Health Care Systems
Raj Nanavati, Partner, International Biometric Group
David Rhoades, Founder, Maven Security
Sondra Schneider, Founder & CEO, Security University
Winn Schwartau, President, Interpact Security Awareness

Thomas Welch, CPP, CISSP, CEO, Secure Enterprise Solutions (SendSecure)
"It is an honor to be invited to sit on the Integrated Security Conference & Expo advisory board,” said Schwartau. “I have always believed that security is not about stovepipe expertise. It is about well integrated disciplines that provide a total security framework employing the New Security Triad."
Integrated Security Conference & Expo will offer comprehensive education and exposure to the complete array of IT and physical security products, policies and procedures necessary to create an integrated security infrastructure. Conference sessions will focus on the business of integration, physical security in an IT environment, integration case studies and the latest biometrics technologies.
"Integrated Security Conference & Expo is a completely new idea and one which I'm surprised hasn't surfaced before,” said Stephenson. “From a practical perspective, physical and logical security always go together. This is the first time, as far as I know, that a conference addressing this important combination has been staged. Long overdue, and I look forward to it."
“We’re proud to have such a well-respected, knowledgeable group of security experts on the Integrated Security Conference & Expo advisory board,” said Darrell Baker, IDG World Expo vice president of event services. “Attendees will benefit directly from their experience and expertise; with their guidance, we’re confident that Integrated Security Conference & Expo will satisfy a pressing need within the industry for a comprehensive security event covering IT, physical and business security.”
