American Banker and Financial Insights Announce Fourth Annual FinTech 100 Program

NEW YORK & FRAMINGHAM, MA – June 4, 2007 – American Banker, SourceMedia's flagship publication for banking and financial services professionals, and Financial Insights, an independent research services firm and an IDC Company, announced today the fourth annual FinTech rankings of the top 100 global technology and service providers to the financial services industry. The rankings will be published Nov. 8, 2007, as a special report in American Banker. The report will contain vital statistics on suppliers of hardware, software and services to the financial services industry as well as analysis and feature articles.

The report will also rank the Top 25 enterprise technology companies in FinTech — technology firms that had significant revenue in financial services in fiscal 2006.

"Our goal with this special report is to give financial institutions a way to gauge vendors' commitment and involvement in the industry — especially at a time of major M&A activity," said David Longobardi, American Banker's editor-in-chief. "The FinTech 100 has quickly become an industry benchmark, as well as one of the most important events in American Banker's annual calendar."

Companies interested in being considered for the ranking should visit for the link to the online survey tool. The deadline for submission is July 12, 2007.

"The FinTech 100 rankings are valuable because they indicate the directions in which this part of the financial industry is moving as well as various trends that are taking place," said Jeanne Capachin, research vice president of global banking for Financial Insights. "Last year's results showed a significant advancement of international businesses, particularly those based in India, whose presence on the list nearly doubled since 2005."

The FinTech 100 rankings will be categorized and evaluated by the company's primary business (hardware, software, services) in serving the technology needs of financial institutions including all worldwide revenue attributed to each financial services segment, e.g., banking, insurance and capital markets for FY 2006; and the percent of revenues derived specifically from financial services. Details will also be provided for companies regarding year-over-year change in rankings. The final rankings will be based on total revenues and total percentage within the financial industry.

The rankings are based on quantifiable, verifiable data, public information and personal interviews conducted by Financial Insights to ensure the accuracy of the information.

At this year's BAI Retail Delivery Conference & Expo in Las Vegas (Nov. 13-15), American Banker and Financial Insights will host an event honoring this year's list makers. And new for 2007, a preview edition, also published by American Banker, on the FinTech 100 will be revealed at Sibos 2007, which takes place Oct. 1-5 at the new Boston Convention and Exhibition Center (BCEC). This international conference is one of the world's premier financial services events — attracting the industry's leading technology providers and institutions. The FinTech 100 preview edition will showcase only the top vendors on the 2007 list and offer an opportunity for providers to promote their rankings through display advertising, joint branding and a special recognition event in Boston.
