American Banker and Financial Insights Team Up to Rank Top Financial Technology Vendors

FRAMINGHAM, MA – JULY 7, 2004 – American Banker, Thomson Media’s flagship publication for banking and financial services professionals, and Financial Insights, an independent research services company, have teamed up to develop a ranking of the top 100 global technology and service providers to the banking industry. The ranking, which will contain vital statistics on suppliers of hardware, software and financial technology services, will be published in November 2004.

The ranking will contain:

• Top 25 Financial Technology companies, listing the largest software and services providers whose revenue is predominantly from the financial services industry;

• Top 10 enterprise technology companies in financial services, listing top horizontal companies who had significant revenue in the financial services industry; and

• Top 100 banking technology companies, listing top application and service providers in the banking market.

The top 100 ranking will be categorized and evaluated by the companies’ primary business; primary technology and primary verticals, total annual revenues for 2003 and forecast for 2004; percent of revenues within financial services for 2003 and forecast for 2004; type of application or service provided; vendor and product reputation; adherence to industry standards; number of clients in the banking industry; total number and value of acquisitions done within financial services; market capitalization and change in market capitalization. The companies will be ranked by total revenues and total number of bank clients.
