FRAMINGHAM, MA and NEW YORK, NY – APRIL 6, 2006 – American Business Media, the association of business information companies, in conjunction with IDG World Expo, the leading producer of world-class tradeshows, conferences and events for technology markets around the globe, today announced a new workshop that will take place at the annual Syndicate(TM) Conference in New York, May 16-17 at the Roosevelt Hotel. The title of the workshop is "Vertical Search in the B-to-B Market" and it will take place on Monday, May 15th from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
During this hands-on event, business information companies will learn about a variety of tools and other marketing mediums that will drive traffic to their web sites and help businesses stand-out in the highly competitive world of search. Additional topics to be covered include Search and Privacy, Search Engine Marketing and Search Engine Optimization, and Making Money with Search.
"Syndication technologies are truly changing the way people receive and share information today. The technologies enable corporations to engage their stakeholders, whether they are consumers or employees, in dialogue directly. Understanding how constituents now find and share information is the key to building corporations and their brands in the future," said Richard Edelman, President and CEO of Edelman.
The ABM Workshop is part of a world-class program that will feature in-depth conference sessions focused on how the tools of syndication — including RSS, blogs, OPML, podcasting and other emerging technologies – are impacting how advertising, public relations and news professionals interact with their core constituents.
Led by top experts in the syndication technology arena from Yahoo!, Microsoft, Reuters, NPR, AOL and other leading companies, the Syndicate conference will be organized around three modules. Each module will feature sessions that will cover important topics surrounding the strategy, implementation and future outlook for social media. Highlights of some of those session tracks include:
— Research on Syndication Trends
— A Look at the Horizon: A VC's Perspective on Syndication
— Everything you always wanted to know about PR and Syndication but were afraid to ask
— Building a Business Case for Podcasting
— Realtime RSS for Marketing Communications
"Business information companies can gain a competitive edge in the search world because of their specialized content," said Steve Ennen, ABM Director of Communications. "This event will help leverage that advantage and address the needs of their users."
