Compaq’s Michael Capellas To Keynote At IDG World Expo’s Windows 2000 Conference & Expo

Framingham, Mass. — January 5, 2000 — IDG World Expo (, the world’s leading producer of IT-focused conferences and expositions, today announced that Michael D. Capellas, president and CEO of Compaq Computer Corporation, will join Bill Gates and Michael Dell as keynote speakers of the Windows 2000 Conference & Expo (, to be held this February 15-17 at San Francisco’s Moscone Center. Dell will kick off the event at 9:00 a.m.on Tuesday, February 15 with a keynote address. Capellas will deliver his address at 6:30 p.m. on February 15. Gates officially will launch Windows 2000 on Thursday, February 17, between 9:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. — the same day that Microsoft plans to provide general retail, channel and OEM availability of the product.

To accommodate the large audience expected to attend these speeches, all three keynotes will be held at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium. Shuttle buses will be provided to and from the Moscone Center.
