DEMOfall 2009 to Broadcast Live Online; BitGravity’s BG Live(TM) to stream video of DEMOfall for third time
FRAMINGHAM, Mass., – September 18, 2009 – The DEMO Conference, known as the launch pad for emerging technologies, today announced that it will partner for a third time exclusively with BitGravity to stream DEMOfall 2009 live on the Web. BitGravity is a global provider of online video for on demand and live events whose highly-scalable BG Live(TM) flash-based video stream service will broadcast the event online as it takes place in San Diego, California.
The DEMOfall 2009 broadcast will begin at 8:30 AM PDT on Sept. 22 and Sept. 23 and can be seen at http://www.demo.com[http://www.demo.com].
"BitGravity is excited to be chosen yet again to provide live feed for a DEMO event," said Perry Wu, CEO and Founder of BitGravity. "DEMOfall will be broadcast across the Web using BG Live-the same service used by major broadcasters around the world to deliver live news, live sporting and gaming events and national events including the live streaming of President Obama's inauguration- in the highest quality with just a few seconds delay."
BitGravity was a DEMO 2008 demonstrator, as well as a DEMOgod award winner, and they are back for a third consecutive time to stream live online video of a DEMO conference. Chris Shipley, Executive Producer, DEMO Conferences, is confident in the ability of BG Live to provide the highest level of resolution with the least amount of delay for those who are unable to attend the conference.
"DEMO is a global community of innovative thought leaders. By streaming the event live online, we can engage a global community in every conference," said Shipley. "It's critical that the video be high quality without latency, so that our community can catch every moment of the event. BG Live was a natural partner choice for DEMOfall. They have been an outstanding partner for the video streaming for our past two conferences, and we know we'll be pleased with the results for a third year in a row."
One of the new segments at DEMOfall is the "AlphaPitch," which is for companies who are at the prototype or development stage of their product lifecycle. They must be pre-revenue and have received no more than a seed round of funding, less than $500,000. Each applicant will be evaluated to find the most compelling new ideas, and the selected companies will have the chance to get early market feedback from media and executive-level attendees.
Another new segment is called "Innovations on the Horizon." It will be a series of presentations from top names in emerging technology who will take a look into the research facilities and R&D labs of leading universities, incubators, and technology leaders. The presenters will discuss new concepts they believe hold the greatest promise to transform the future of technology.
DEMOfall 2009 is the last conference with executive producer Chris Shipley in the lead. It is also the first conference for Matt Marshall to be fully engaged in the demonstrator selection and program development process. The third new segment will include DEMO Lifetime Achievement Awards, as well as an All-Star Send-Off for Shipley.
"Chris has been a great leader for DEMO," said Marshall. "She's been here for 13 years and produced 24 conferences. I think it's safe to say I have some very big shoes to fill."
The DEMOfall 2009 conference is from Sept. 21 – 23, at the Sheraton Hotel and Marina in San Diego, Calif. To view the agenda and register to attend, please visit http://www.demo.com[http://www.demo.com].
