Digital ID World To Kick-Off With New Workshops and User Group Sessions; The Internet Identity Workshop and Federated Identity and Virtual Directory user group meetings highlight the first day of events

FRAMINGHAM, MA – AUGUST 3, 2006 – Digital ID World, the industry's premier digital identity conference, has announced that the first day of this year's Digital ID World conference will feature the Internet Identity Workshop and two user group sessions: a Virtual Directory User Group sponsored by Radiant Logic, and a Federated Identity User Group sponsored by Ping Identity Corporation. Digital ID World 2006 is scheduled to take place September 11-13 at the Santa Clara Marriott, Santa Clara, CA.

The Internet Identity Workshop will focus on user-centric identity. Providing identity service between people, websites and organizations that may or may not have any kind of formalized relationship is a different problem than providing authentication and authorization services within a single organization. This workshop will provide a forum to discuss a variety of architectural and governance proposals for internet-wide identity services and their underlying philosophies. Some of these include the Liberty Alliance, Microsoft's InfoCard system, Identity Commons, SXIP, OpenID, XRI/XDI, and others.

The Radiant Logic Virtual Directory User Meeting is a no-cost educational session that will provide an opportunity for attendees to gather real-world experiences from other enterprises that have discovered virtualization as a way to reduce risks, minimize complexity and provide a systematic framework for identity management success. The workshop will feature industry experts and enterprises that have deployed Virtual Directory technology. Some of the topics that will be covered include:

— The role of Virtual Directory in Identity, Access Management and Federation

— How to leverage metadata to minimize data synchronization

— How to use Virtual Directory to publish contexts as a way to share and search data across application silos

— How identity virtualization and a central identity hub can enable user management and provisioning.

Ping Identity is also sponsoring a user group focusing on Federated Identity. Federated Identity allows enterprises to securely link and exchange identity information across partner, supplier and customer organizations. Leading enterprises have deployed identity federations to form closer business relationships, improve customer service, accelerate execution of partnerships, and cut identity management costs. During this, attendees will hear about best practices and the future of federated identity . Participants will also interact with each other and with Ping Identity experts in open-space breakout sessions where they can contribute to as well as learn more about specific topics that interest them.
