Entries Now Open for COMNET New Product Achievement Awards
FRAMINGHAM, MA – DECEMBER 9, 2002 – IDG World Expo, the leading producer of world-class tradeshows, conferences and events for IT markets, today announced new categories and judges for the New Product Achievement Awards at COMNET 2003. Entries are now being accepted for the Awards, which will be presented at the upcoming COMNET Conference & Expo, taking place January 27-30, 2003 at the Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C.
The 12th annual COMNET New Product Achievement Awards will recognize the best new products making their public debut at COMNET 2003. This year, the program will feature two new product categories to reflect the changing landscape of the communications networking industry. For the first time, New Product Achievement Awards will be presented to the Best New Network Storage Product or Service, Best New Web Services Product or Service and Best Internet/Intranet Product or Service. Best New Network Management Product
Best New Carrier or WAN Service or Product
Best New LAN or Internetworking Product
Best New Network Infrastructure Product
Best New Wireless Product
Entries will be evaluated on the basis of innovation, industry contribution, integration with current product lines, migration capabilities, support provided and return on investment. Three finalists in each category will be selected prior to the event, and winners will be announced in a ceremony held on the COMNET show floor on Thursday, January 30.
Finalists and winners will be selected by a panel of judges comprising leading members of the trade and business press, industry research firms and academia. This year, three new judges have been added to the panel, including Greg MacArthur, president of Viewpoint; Lew McCreary, editor-in-chief of Chief Security Officer magazine; and Steve Steinke, editor-in-chief of Network Magazine. Veteran New Product Achievement Awards judges include John Dix, editor-in-chief of Network World; Maryfran Johnson, editor-in-chief of Computerworld; Bill Laberis, president of Bill Laberis Associates; John McConnell, president of McConnell Associates; Rob Preston, publisher of Network Computing; and Rick Sturm, president of Enterprise Management Solutions.
