"We had 20 more exhibitors, and exhibit hall floor space was larger than last year. Exhibitors told us they were very pleased with the event and have responded enthusiastically by signing up for next year's San Francisco event at a much higher rate than in the past. We're really happy about the success of this year's event."

Highlights of the conference included the first in depth public training on Apple's forthcoming Tiger operating system and its IT implications; training for Adobe Creative Suite, DVD Studio Pro, Dreamweaver, Professional Photoshop, FileMaker Pro 7, Final Cut Pro 4, Motion, Mac OS X, and many more; a feature presentation by Wil Wheaton, author of "Just a Geek" and actor in "Star Trek: The Next Generation" and the movie "Stand By Me"; and David Pogue, technology columnist for the New York Times, hosted the inaugural "Macworld Live!" talk show.

Concerts by six different music stars including Spin Doctors, John Legend and the Jackie Greene Band took place during the week, underscoring the importance of music at this year's event. Many of the concerts took place at The John Lennon Educational Tour Bus, a unique non-profit state-of-the-art mobile recording and multimedia studio which attended the event for the first time this year and was located in the exhibit hall.
