Exploding Demand Compels ASPWorld Conference & Expo to Add Additional Exhibit Hall

FRAMINGHAM, MA – August 7, 2000 – ASPWorld Conference & Expo has become the largest event in the ASP market, easily selling out the first 50,000 square foot exhibit hall. IDG World Expo has responded to the exploding demand by contracting space in an additional hall and establishing a waiting list for companies interested in exhibiting. ASPWorld Conference & Expo will run Oct. 3 through 6 at the San Jose Convention Center.

"We are thrilled to have received such a great response for our inaugural show," said Rob Scheschareg, vice president for events at IDG World Expo, producers of the nation’s leading IT trade shows. "We have already sold 50,000 square feet of space and are adding more exhibitors and attendees every day. This solidifies our standing as the most influential event in the ASP market," continued Scheschareg.

ASPWorld Conference & Expo is the premier event to help corporate end-users make informed decisions about ASP services and products. For the first time, end-users and application providers will gather at this new event, which showcases the entire range of outsourcing options.

ASPWorld Conference & Expo will feature over 125 exhibitors and over 50 industry experts as well as keynote presentations by Terry Ozan, executive committee and board of directors member of Cap Gemini Ernst & Young, and Andy Stern, chief executive officer of USinternetworking. John Gallant, editorial director and executive vice president of Network World will lead a feature presentation entitled "The Best Match for You–The ASP Dating Game!" with panelists from Corio, Infinium, and Qwest Cyber.Solutions. Harris Miller, president, The Information Technology Association of America, will host "Adopting an ASP Model", with Laurent Philonenko, senior vice president, Genesys Telecommunications sharing the challenges encountered with Genesys' adoption of an ASP business model and the benefits that they've gained. To round out the feature presentations, Phil Wainewright, founder and managing editor of ASPnews.com and ASP News Review will moderate a session entitled, "State-of-the-Market," with industry experts sharing their insight into the ASP marketplace.

Exhibitors will offer attendees a wide variety of outsourcing options to the end-user – pure play ASPs, ISVs, Hardware OEMs, ISPs, Portals, Telcos, Communications Providers, Solutions Integrators and VARs. Of those scheduled to exhibit, 40 percent are pure-play ASPs, 40 percent offer additional services and 20 percent are OEMs and ISVs.

"We promised an event that would be a one-stop shop and comparison opportunity for those interested in researching the complete range of outsourcing options," said Scheschareg. "At the rate we are going, we are going to deliver on that and far more."

Early demographics on the thousands of pre-registered attendees are equally impressive. More than 36 percent of respondents are at the executive, CIO, CFO, CEO, CTO level. More than half (53 percent) are still undecided about their application outsourcing plans; and 85 percent of all respondents recommend or make final decisions on purchasing applications for their businesses. The event is attracting attendees from many industries including human resources, customer relationship management, accounting/finance, e-mail/messaging, office productivity, business intelligence/knowledge management and sales/marketing.
