Feel ”Secure” at Next Generation Data Center Conference & Expo
FRAMINGHAM, MA – JUNE 19, 2007 – Next Generation Data Center(TM) (NGDC(TM)), the only strategic IT event focused on complete end-to-end solutions and new technologies for the data center, has announced a significant line-up of sessions that will focus exclusively on the increasingly important topic of security within the data center. Attendees will learn how to lock down their environment with proven, practical techniques delivered straight from security experts. NGDC, which will be co-located this year with the Storage Networking Industry Association's (SNIA) Enterprise Information World, is scheduled to debut August 6-9, 2007, at the Moscone Convention Center, San Francisco, CA.
A combination of increasing risks from network security attacks and the need for data center consolidation is causing data center managers to enlist a more aggressive and integrated approach to the data center network infrastructure. The Data Center Security track at NGDC will examine new paradigms such as virtualized security appliances and network access control, as well as traditional approaches to data center security. Some of the technologies include: Physical Access Control, Endpoint/Network Access Control, Identity and Access Management, Server Host-based security, Vulnerability and Patch Management, Application and Content Security, Retention and Audit, Virtualized Security, Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), Access and Identity Management (AIM), Security and Compliance, Information Leakage, and more.
In addition, Enterprise Information World sessions put a spotlight on IT security and related topics during the Protecting Information track. These sessions are focused on the tools, technologies & strategies essential for safeguarding your corporate information assets.
"Today, more than ever, the ability to effectively protect your information assets is directly correlated with your ability to leverage technology solutions," said Vincent Franceschini, Chairman of the Board of the SNIA. "SNIA recognizes that data storage solutions need to become more integrated into the larger data center framework. The combined NGDC and EIW conference programs will show attendees how to control and reduce information risk by implementing information management practices."
The following is a brief listing of security related sessions on the agenda:
— Securing Data with Strong Encryption and Access Controls, presented by Blair Semple, Storage Security Evangelist, Decru.
