Films Created With Final Cut Pro To Premier at Macworld Creativepro Conference & Expo
FRAMINGHAM, MA – JUNE 30, 2003 – IDG World Expo, the leading producer of world-class tradeshows, conferences and events for technology markets, today announced that the Final Cut Pro User Group (FCPUG) Network will host the third FCPUG Network Theater at Macworld CreativePro Conference & ExpoTM, taking place July 14-18, 2003 at New York City's Javits Center. Located in booth #866 on the event's expo floor July 16-18, the film theater will showcase films created by user group members as well as educational sessions.
Regular 15-minute showings of the best original works created by FCPUG Network members will fill the theater schedule. These "15 of Final Cut" films have been selected from dozens of entries submitted by members from around the world. Each of these films will be screened on DVD in order to demonstrate DVD Studio Pro's ease of use.
The theater schedule will also feature educational programming by talented artists and digital video gurus over the three days. A total of 19 45-minute sessions will focus on various aspects of Final Cut Pro 4, DVD Studio Pro 2 and digital video on the Macintosh. Representatives from Apple will also present three sessions each day to complement the FCPUG member presentations.
The FCPUG Network Theater will allow attendees to mingle with members from various Final Cut Pro User Groups within the United States and abroad. FCPUG members from Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Connecticut, New York, Philadelphia, Washington, Los Angeles, San Francisco and New Jersey will be present, as well as members hailing from international locations such as London, Quebec and Mexico City. Attendees will have the chance to learn how artists, graphic designers and motion graphics artists are using the uniquely creative workflow of Final Cut Pro to meet their sophisticated needs, both professionally and aesthetically.
The third FCPUG Network Theater is sponsored in part by ThinkStock Royalty Free Footage, Canon USA, Focus Enhancements, Contour Design and Focal Press.
"To be in tune with the purpose of Macworld CreativePro, we want to provide a theater experience for the attendee that balances the classroom with real-world, aesthetic examples of Final Cut Pro in use," said Daniel Berube, leader of the Boston Final Cut Pro User Group and co-founder of the FCPUG Network. "We'd like to jumpstart people's creativity. As Final Cut Pro User Groups continue to spring up across the country and abroad, it empowers us to focus on and celebrate the cultural creativity and diversity flowing through the works that members create."
Filmmakers and digital video professionals can also take part in Macworld CreativePro's Professional Video conference track, part of the event's Level 2 conference program. This track offers more than 15 sessions focused on Final Cut Pro, Final Cut Express and other tools for the digital video professional. These in-depth, technical presentations will be taught by well-known experts, including Gary Adcock of Studio 37; film editor Billy Sheahan of Swell, Inc.; Emmy Award-winning director/producer Dennis Burgin; author Richard Harrington, and additional instructors from Ben Waggoner Digital, Alias Wavefront, Apple, Avid Technology, The Mac Trainers, Ripple Training, R/com Networks and Gnome Digital Media.
On Thursday, July 17 the FCPUG Network will also present a special "All Things FCP 4 and DVD Studio Pro 2" evening event starting at 5pm in the Grand Ballroom at the New Yorker Hotel. This event will feature Brian Meaney, Product Designer of Final Cut Pro 4; Paul Saccone, Product Manager of Final Cut Pro 4; and Brian Schmidt, Product Manager of DVD Studio Pro 2.
