Government Insights Appoints Thom Rubel To Research Program Director
FRAMINGHAM, MA – APRIL 12, 2006 – Government Insights, an IDC company, announces the appointment of Thom Rubel to Research Program Director. In this role, Rubel is responsible for managing and coordinating the development of two research programs focused on improving technology decision management throughout the government markets. The practices under Rubel’s leadership include the Strategy, Governance, and Reporting program and the Program Management and Controls program.
“Thom has proven experience identifying best practices and developing strategies to maximize information technology (IT) investments that effectively and efficiently achieve business and public policy goals,” says Teresa Bozzelli, managing director and chief operating officer (COO) for Government Insights. “With his strategic vision and technology background, Thom is exactly the kind of leader we need to spearhead our research initiatives in order to best serve the needs of the government and its vendors.”
Rubel brings more than 19 years of leadership and IT experience to his new role at Government Insights. Prior to joining the recently launched IDC company, Rubel was a part of the INPUT, Inc., Consulting Group. He also served as Vice President of Government Strategies at META Group, where he led strategy research and messaging efforts to focus on improving government policy outcomes and service delivery.

In addition to his private sector experience, Rubel also held significant leadership roles in various levels of the government. As Director of State Information Technology Programs for the National Governors’ Association, Rubel managed numerous successful policy and program initiatives to provide governors with effective information technology strategies. He also held positions as an Assistant Under Secretary for the U.S. Department of Agriculture and Deputy Director of Consumer Affairs for the U.S. Department of Transportation.
