IDC Appoints Retail Industry Veteran to Launch New Research and Advisory Services Firm
FRAMINGHAM, MA – JUNE 25, 2007 – IDC announced today the appointment of Scott Langdoc as the new Vice President of Research for its forthcoming retail industry research and advisory services practice. Langdoc will provide the overall business vision and research direction for the new retail division of IDC, making it the sixth Insights company IDC has launched in five years.
Langdoc's distinguished career includes his most recent role as CTO at Fujitsu Transaction Solutions and executive management roles leading AMR Research's retail industry practice. Coupled with Langdoc's deep knowledge of the retail industry, the industry veteran brings more than 19 years of information technology experience to his new role at IDC, including that of chief information officer (CIO) and various strategic consulting positions.
Langdoc formerly served as CIO of Raley's, a $3 billion West Coast regional grocery and drug store chain, where he successfully led major point-of-sale (POS) and data warehousing deployments, and PDQuick, a multi-channel convenience store retailer.
