IDC CMO Advisory Service Announces Geoffrey Moore and Other Industry Experts to Serve on Advisory Panel for Tech Marketing Best Practices Award

FRAMINGHAM, MA – NOVEMBER 17, 2003 – The IDC CMO Advisory Service today announced the formation of its Best Practices Advisory Panel, a group of technology marketing luminaries who will review and judge the nominees for IDC’s Tech Marketing Best Practices Awards. Panel members include: Geoffrey Moore, managing director with TCG Advisors and founder of The Chasm Group; Donovan Neale-May, executive director of the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) Council and managing partner of Global Fluency; Frank Cutitta, CEO of the International Advertising Association; and Jonathan Angel, senior editor of ADWEEK’s Technology Marketing magazine.

The IDC Tech Marketing Best Practices Awards will honor the most successful practitioners in three categories of critical importance to technology marketing: Marketing Measurement and Metrics; Aligning Marketing with Sales; and Cost Control and Outsourcing. The awards, part of the CMO Advisory Service’s unique best practices research, are open to any IT marketing organization seeking recognition for its efforts in each category.

The first category to be awarded will be Marketing Measurement and Metrics. The deadline for entry submission in this category is November 30, 2003. The winners will be announced in December 2003. Winning entries will have their Best Practice case studies published within the CMO Advisory Service and on IDC.com.

IDC’s CMO Advisory Service is currently accepting nominations for all Best Practices categories. Nominations for the Aligning Marketing with Sales category are due January 31, 2004. The winners in this category will be announced in March 2004. Cost Control and Outsourcing nominations are due March 31, 2004 with the winners to be announced in May.
