IDC’s Inaugural Software as a Service Summit to Bring Together Executives to Discuss How to Drive Business Innovation Through SaaS

FRAMINGHAM, MA – February 13, 2008 – IDC today announced plans for the inaugural IDC Software as a Service Summit to be held March 6, 2008 at the New York Marriott Downtown in New York City.

Now more than ever, both IT and Line of Business executives are tasked with driving business innovation, and doing so with speed, agility, and flexibility. Although still early in the adoption lifecycle, experience is proving that Software as a Service (SaaS) is a viable business strategy that is emerging in the marketplace as a practical on demand service model to achieve these goals while also reducing costs and increasing efficiency.

The IDC SaaS Summit brings together senior IT and line of business executives to learn about the opportunities and challenges that SaaS brings to the enterprise. Using first-hand experiences from industry experts, IDC analysts, and end-user executives, attendees will explore emerging trends and best practices around how SaaS can be used to rapidly deploy new applications and drive business innovation.

In addressing the Forum theme, “Driving Business Innovation within the New Paradigm,” the program will feature best practices around customized applications; evaluation and selection; launching SaaS into new vertical and functional markets; calculating total cost of ownership; addressing business continuity and disaster recovery; and addressing IT infrastructure reliability and performance, to name a few.

The outstanding speaker line-up includes senior executives from Analog Devices, Aviall Services (subsidiary of The Boeing Company), Colorado Capital Bank, Fujitsu, Heidelberg, Humane Society, IDC, OpSource, The Shumacher Group, and United Way America.

Sponsors and Partners of the IDC Software as a Service Summit are: Fujitsu Consulting, OpSource, Hewlett Packard, Autodesk, Applications Development Trends, NetworkWorld, and Software Developer.com
