IDG Appoints David Korse President of IDG World Expo
BOSTON, MA – MAY 28, 2003 – International Data Group (IDG), the world’s leading technology media company, today announced the appointment of David Korse to president of IDG World Expo. With nearly twenty years of experience in the technology tradeshow business, Korse will strengthen IDG World Expo's position as the leading producer of global tradeshows for the technology industry. Korse will officially take the helm on June 16. In his new post, Korse will lead the IDG World Expo group by managing existing events like Bio-ITWorld Conference & Expo and Linuxworld Conference & Expo, and launching new ones around the world.

Most recently, Korse was president and CEO of Imark Communications, an international integrated media firm specializing in the production of b-to-b trade events in the field of information technology, where he led 300 employees and a $40 million operation in the US, UK, Singapore, Argentina, and Canada. Prior to that, Korse was COO of the Institute for International Research Exhibitions (IIR) where he was responsible for consolidating separate exhibition assets and building centralized exhibition business including new launches, acquisitions, and negotiating association management contracts.
Previous to that, he was president for the Americas where he had complete responsibility including P&L and business development for IIR's conference operations in North and South America. From 1984 to 1993, Korse held the position of vice president at Reed Exhibition Companies, where he was responsible for more than 40 events in ten countries.

Korse is the former chairman and current member of the Board of Directors of the Society of Independent Show Organizers (SISO), a member of the Board of Directors of the Center for Exhibition Industry Research (CEIR), and a member of the International Association of Exhibition Management. Korse attended Washburn University and Los Angeles Valley College.
