IDG Captures The Highest Percentage Of Ad Pages In Europe, Middle East And Africa In 2000
BOSTON, MA -APRIL 11, 2001 – International Data Group (IDG), the world's leading IT media and information services company announced today, a 6 percent increase in total ad pages for 2000, compared with an overall total market decrease of 2 percent in the region, according to recent data from AC NielsenMMS. IDG's share of total advertising pages increased to 33.3 percent, 12.4 percentage points higher than its nearest competitor, VNU. Results also indicated that over half of the IT advertisers in EMEA utilized IDG's publications to effectively reach their target audiences.

Advertising Increases in Networking, Channel and IS Titles
Accounting for close to 50 percent of the IS publication market, the Computerworld/InfoWorld product line increased across the region. This increase was led by Computer Sweden (up 32 percent), Computerworld Denmark (up 14 percent), Le Monde Informatique France (up 21 percent), Computerwoche Germany (up 12 percent) and Correio Informatico Portugal (up 28 percent).
IDG's networking publications increased advertising pages by 24 percent while other non-IDG titles in the market experienced 2.7 percent growth. IDG publications such as Sweden's Netverk & Kommunikation (up 29 percent) and France's Reuseux & Telecoms (up 16 percent) led this double-digit growth.
Ad pages within IDG channel publications grew 10 percent during 2000, while the rest of the non-IDG titles showed less than one percent growth. Lead by Dealer World Portugal (up 34 percent), Distributique France (up 15 percent) and Computer Partner Germany (up 13 percent). IDG's channel publication account for 43 percent of all channel advertising throughout the region.
