"We succeeded at putting the fan back into the Fan Club. Now that Lucasfilm has brought the Fan Club back home, I am looking forward to an even brighter future of bringing the fans closer to the Star Wars Saga than ever before and am happy to stay along for the ride."

Responsible for growing GamePro magazine to a readership of more than 3 million core gamers, IDG Entertainment is passionate about serving the needs of the most rabid and dedicated entertainment fans.

Part of IDG Entertainment's success has come from its keen ability to create an interactive and engaging reader experience by integrating print, online, and other forms of electronic entertainment. Star Wars fans can expect to see some exciting changes to Star Wars Insider magazine.

For IDG Entertainment Senior Vice President Francis Mao, publishing Star Wars Insider is a dream come true. "To say that I'm a Star Wars fan is an understatement. From watching the original Star Wars in a theater as a kid (three showings in the same day), to amassing a Star Wars action figure collection of over 250 pieces (on display in my office today), Star Wars continues to be a huge passion of mine," says Mao. "There are few brands as recognized and beloved as Star Wars. We seek to capture that enthusiasm and present different aspects of it in every issue of Star Wars Insider."

This announcement is the first of many from Lucasfilm as the 12-month lead-up to Star Wars: Episode III begins. Excitement for the release will continue to build as the Star Wars Trilogy DVD is released September 21, 2004.

"For nearly 20 years, a succession of talented and passionate fans have had a hand in shaping the Star Wars Insider, and the result has been constant improvement and evolution," says Howard Roffman, President of Lucas Licensing. "We are tremendously excited about the energy and fresh perspective that IDG Entertainment brings to the Insider and are looking forward to our best issues yet."
