IDG Germany Inks Deal For E-Commerce Platform

BOSTON, MA – DECEMBER 12, 2000 – International Data Group (IDG), the world’s leading IT media and information services company, today announced that German subsidiary IDG Interactive has forged an agreement that will soon bring and readers detailed information about nearly all IT products available in Germany. The product database, operated jointly with DCI Database for Commerce and Industry AG, debuted at the SYSTEMS 2000 show in Munich, Germany.


The database features more than 60,000 computer and networking products and will be expanded in the next few months into an e-commerce platform that will span the entire German IT market. Currently, the database contains complete technical specifications for each product along with direct links to computer dealers and manufacturers. By January 2001, dealers will be able to provide their own pricing and basic order information to the site.

This database is an exciting opportunity to provide an unprecedented network of information to the German IT community.
