IDG Germany Restructures Management Team, Names Stephan Scherzer Publishing Manager of IDG Magazine Verlag GmbH

MUNICH – MAY 31, 2001 – York von Heimburg, chief executive officer of International Data Group (IDG) Germany, announced today the restructuring of his top management team. Three IDG businesses – IDG Magazine Verlag GmbH, IDG Entertainment Verlag GmbH and IDG Interactive GmbH – have been affected by the organizational changes.


Stephan Scherzer has been named publishing manager of IDG Magazine Verlag GmbH, and will serve as a member of the management board of the publication. Scherzer will also be responsible for further development of PC-WELT, and retain his current role on the management board of IDG Entertainment Verlag GmbH and IDG Interactive GmbH.

Scherzer has been with IDG for over 10 years and is responsible for many developments within the computer publishing industry. Scherzer was responsible for the successful launch of the PC Games publication GameStar, establishing it as market leader in just two years. Scherzer also helped launch, Germany's first Webzine for technology and communications professionals.

Uwe Kielmann, former deputy publishing manager of Gamestar, has been named publishing manager of the publication. Britta Tüttenberg has been named associate publisher for Macwelt and will report directly to York von Heimburg.

IDG Magazine Verlag publishes the magazines PC-WELT and Macwelt. The company is a subsidiary of the biggest publishing house in the world for IT information, the International Data Group (IDG) in Boston, Mass., USA.
