IDG Publications Reach More Technology Buyers and Influencers than Competitors

BOSTON, MA – JUNE 9, 2006 – International Data Group (IDG) far outdistances its competitors in reaching technology buyers and influencers. According to the 2006 IntelliQuest CIMS Business Influencer Study, the combined reach of CIO, Computerworld, InfoWorld, Network World, Macworld, and PC World is 4.5 million technology business influencers (1). IDG reaches 3 million more business influencers than CMP Media (2) and 1.4 million more than Ziff Davis (3).

"IDG maintains its dominant position in this latest IntelliQuest CIMS study compared to results last fall,” said Bob Carrigan, president, IDG Communications. "In fact, we’ve gained ground against our competitive set in just six months." Starting this year, IntelliQuest is conducting its CIMS survey twice a year instead of annually.

Net Reach to Corporate IT Influencers

The IntelliQuest study shows that corporate IT professionals are the most important influencers in the purchase of technology and that IDG is the undisputed leader in reaching these individuals. IDG reaches 55 percent more influencers than Ziff Davis and 64 percent more influencers than CMP Media.
