IDG Sweden Launches

SWEDEN – MARCH 07, 2001- Today IDG Sweden, a subsidiary of IDG Inc. in Boston, have launched, a web-based service for non-American professionals who want to learn more about living and working in New York City.

An increasing number of people are interested in living, studying and working abroad. The United States in general, and New York City in particular, attract a large number of international students and temporary workers every year. The demand for well-educated IT personnel in the U.S. is high and the country is issuing a larger number of HB-1 visas, the most common type of visa for professional temporary workers, than ever before, from 115,000 last year to 195,000 each year until 2003.

At Going2NewYork users can ask questions about living and working in New York, as well as share their own experiences from the city, and answer other peoples' questions. Going2NewYork will complement the wide range of already existing services offered by IDG Sweden, such as, a global online employment

service for IT-professionals.

IDG hopes to expand the Going2-concept to include other cities that attract large numbers of international professionals, including Paris, London, San Francisco, Singapore, Berlin, and Sydney.
