IDG To Convene Leading CEOs At Sold-Out LinuxWorld Conference & Expo

FRAMINGHAM, MA – JULY 6, 2000 – IDG World Expo, the world's leading IT event-management company, announced today that it will feature a "no-holds-barred" roundtable of top Linux executives at the upcoming LinuxWorld Conference & Expo. The sold-out LinuxWorld Conference & Expo will be held at the San Jose Convention Center, August 14-17, 2000.

Patricia Sabga, the co-anchor of CNNfn's "The N.E.W. Show" ("The New Economy Watch"), will moderate an "Executive Roundtable" that is expected to produce a feisty exchange among six Linux visionaries. "The N.E.W. Show" airs each weekday on CNNfn at 5:00 p.m. (ET). The popular show provides news and perspectives on the New Economy from a serious, in-depth financial perspective.

The "Executive Roundtable" all-star line-up features:

Larry Augustin, CEO, VA Linux Systems

Patricia Lambs, CEO, LinuxCare

Ransom Love, CEO, Caldera Systems

Cliff Miller, CEO, TurboLinux

Volker Wiegand, CEO, SuSE, Inc.

Bob Young, Chairman, Red Hat

"Republicans and Democrats don't have a lock on major conventions this summer," said Charlie Greco, president & CEO, IDG World Expo. "The floor of the San Jose Convention Center will come alive in August, as Linux leaders join forces with many hundreds of exhibitors, reporters and analysts. The votes are already in, however, and Linux has clearly won the respect of the technology, business and financial communities.

"February's successful LinuxWorld Conference & Expo in New York helped introduce Linux to Wall Street. Now we're pleased to build on our momentum within the financial community by welcoming Patricia Sabga and `The N.E.W. Show' to LinuxWorld Conference & Expo," Greco added.

Prior to joining CNNfn, Sabga was a correspondent and producer for CNN's prime time news magazine program, CNN & Fortune. She began her career in broadcasting as a financial news correspondent and anchor for Dow Jones & Co. Sabga earned a masters of arts degree from The Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies. She holds an undergraduate degree from Emory University.
