IDG World Expo and Bio-IT World Magazine Announce ‘Best of Show’ Awards

FRAMINGHAM, MA – SEPTEMBER 12, 2002 – Recognizing excellence in technology products for the life sciences market, IDG World Expo, the leading producer of world-class tradeshows, conferences and events for IT markets, and IDG's Bio-IT World, the first publication to focus on technology for the life sciences, today announced details of the BioITWorld Conference & Expo "Best of Show" Awards. This first-of-its-kind awards program will recognize excellence in technology products that enable the life sciences research and development value chain. Awards in five technology categories will spotlight products such as storage management solutions, knowledge management software, server hardware, data analysis tools and gene sequencers.


Exhibitors at the upcoming BioITWorld Conference & Expo, taking place November 12-14, 2002 at the San Diego Convention Center, are invited to submit their products and services for the "Best of Show" Awards. "Best of Show" Awards will be given in the following five categories: Information Technology Infrastructure; Knowledge Management and Collaboration Applications; Informatics Tools and Data; Supporting Applications; and Life Science Equipment. A panel of judges, led by Bio-IT World's executive editor, John Russell, and including leading business and technology experts, will select up to three finalists in each category prior to the event, and will announce one winner in each category after meeting with the finalists and reviewing their products at the show. Winners will be announced and presented with their awards on November 13.
