IDG World Expo Relocates West Coast Events To Capture ‘Internet Crown’ in Las Vegas
FRAMINGHAM, MA — OCTOBER 31, 2000 — IDG World Expo, the world's leading producer of information technology conferences and expositions, today announced the relocation of two of its hottest shows, ASPWorld Conference & Expo and Internet Commerce Expo (ICe), to Las Vegas, NV. The relocation of these two events comes as IDG World Expo prepares to launch its latest new show, Internet Entertainment Expo (IEX), in March, also in Las Vegas.
Launched in San Jose, Calif., ASPWorld Conference & Expo and ICe have outgrown San Jose's infrastructure, and as a result, will be making its debut in Las Vegas in 2001. "Las Vegas is the perfect platform for IDG World Expo to house the West Coast editions of both events," says Charlie Greco, president and CEO, IDG World Expo. "Las Vegas is sizzling. It's exciting. By bringing these three leading industry events to the Las Vegas Convention Center, IDG
World Expo captures the 'Internet Crown' in Las Vegas."
Come March 2001, Internet Entertainment Expo (IEX), the focus of which is on products and tools for companies wanting to expand their entertainment Web sites, will be making Las Vegas its home. The event is scheduled to take place at the Las Vegas Convention Center March 20-22, 2001 with conferences scheduled for March 19-22, 2001.
Internet Commerce Expo (ICe) will be unveiling the latest and greatest in B-to-B products and services in its new home: Las Vegas. The show is slated to take place July 31 – August 2, 2001 with conferences lined-up for July 30 – August 2, 2001.
Similarly, the successful September 2000 launch of ASPWorld Conference & Expo in San Jose has led IDG World Expo to relocate the show to Las Vegas to accommodate the event's growth. ASPWorld is scheduled to debut at the Las Vegas Convention Center in August 2001 with conferences scheduled to take place August 13-16 and exposition dates August 14-16, 2001.
"Las Vegas has become the new permanent home of ASPWorld Conference & Expo, ICe, and Internet Entertainment Expo (IEX)," explains Rob Scheschareg, vice president of events for IDG World Expo. "A hub of business and excitement, Las Vegas has the qualities our events promote. This venue selection complements perfectly our vision for the West Coast productions of ASPWorld and ICe, and last but certainly not least, our launch in March 2001 of IEX."
