IDG’s Macworld Magazine Announces 2002 Editors’ Choice Awards
SAN FRANCISCO, CA – DECEMBER 9, 2002 – Macworld magazine, IDG’s premier Macintosh publication and Web site, has named the winners and finalists of its prestigious eighteenth annual Editors’ Choice Awards for 2002.
The Eddy Awards, the Apple Macintosh industry’s highest distinction for breakthrough product development, are being given to the year’s top software and hardware products in 27 categories. The Macworld editors looked at virtually every new Mac product on the market between November 1, 2001 and November 1, 2002, evaluating them for their overall quality as well as their utility, innovation, and elegance.
"During the last twelve months, the Mac development community gave us a wide array of ingenious and intriguing products for Apple's new operating system, as well as old standbys updated to take advantage of the changes Apple's software engineers have wrought on the Mac platform," stated Jason Snell, editor or Macworld magazine. "This year’s award-winning products clearly indicate that the Macintosh is entering a remarkable new era of innovation."
