IDG’s Network World Appoints Vice President Of Events
SOUTHBOROUGH, MA – JULY 25, 2000 – Network World, Inc., the Leader in Network Knowledge, has appointed Robin Azar to the position of Vice President, Events. Ms. Azar will be responsible for managing Network World’s seminars and events and will also be a member of the Executive Committee. As Vice President, Ms. Azar will oversee Network World’s face-to-face events, virtual seminars, Webcasts and conferences. Ms. Azar will be responsible for setting strategy for both live and Web-based events and education, ensuring top quality content and helping Network World deliver integrated print/online/events marketing solutions to the network industry. She will report to John Gallant, Network World’s Editorial Director and Executive Vice President.
Prior to joining Network World, Ms. Azar served as Vice President of Event Development for CXO Media, formerly CIO Communications. In that role, she was responsible for event development and execution, strategic planning, sponsorship sales and new program initiatives. She was instrumental in creating new business opportunities for several CIO departments, resulting in a 50% increase of CIO events in two years. Ms. Azar joined CIO in 1994 and served as Strategic Marketing Manager and Director of Program Development before she became Vice President in 1998. Prior to that, she held several marketing management positions at International Data Corporation and Dun and Bradstreet Software.
