IDG’s Playlist Announces the 2005 Playlist Plays of the Year

SAN FRANCISCO, CA – December 12, 2005 – IDG's Playlist, (http://www.playlistmag.com) the ultimate iPod guide online, has named the recipients of the first annual Plays of the Year Awards for 2005.

The 2005 Playlist Plays of the Year awards are prestigious distinctions given to the year's top hardware and software in the iPod and digital music markets. The awards are chosen by Playlist's editorial staff, who have looked at nearly every new iPod- and digital music-related product released between November 1, 2004 and November 1, 2005, evaluating each product's overall quality as well as its innovation, usefulness, design, and value.

"Playlist has become one of the foremost authorities on iPod and digital music products," said Dan Frakes, senior reviews editor for Playlist. "With our staff's expertise and breadth of knowledge, along with our hands-on experience using and testing most of the products on the market, we're in a unique position to recognize those products that truly stand out from the hundreds and hundreds released over the past year. The 26 recipients of our 2005 Plays of the Year awards, ranging in price from $15 to $1000, represent the types of products every vendor should aspire to produce."
