International Data Group Names Bob Carrigan CEO of IDG Communications Worldwide
BOSTON, MA. – April 3, 2008 – International Data Group (IDG) announced today that Bob Carrigan has been promoted to CEO of IDG Communications Worldwide from his current position as CEO of IDG Communications U.S. Effective immediately, Carrigan will oversee IDG’s media operations, including print, online and events, in 85 countries around the world.

Since 2005, Carrigan has been CEO of IDG Communications U.S., with oversight of IDG’s network of U.S. media brands including CIO, Computerworld, CSO, E for All, GamePro, InfoWorld, LinuxWorld, Macworld, Network World, and PC World. In that time, IDG’s brands in the U.S. have successfully embraced IDG’s web-centric future to become the leaders in providing digital solutions for end-users and technology advertisers.
Carrigan began his career at IDG in 1987 as a college intern, rising to sales management roles at Digital News and PC World, before leaving for Internet start-up, Spinner, an IDG portfolio company that was acquired by AOL. He held senior-level positions in the Interactive Marketing Group at AOL. Carrigan returned to IDG in 2003 as President and Chief Executive Officer of Computerworld.
