International Data Group Publications Win 12 Folio Awards for Excellence in Magazine Industry
BOSTON, MA – NOVEMBER 10, 2005 – International Data Group (IDG), the world's leading technology media company, has been recognized for superior editorial and design with a dozen gold, silver, and bronze awards in the 19th annual Folio competition. The winners are CIO magazine, CMO magazine, CSO magazine, InfoWorld, Macworld, and PC World.

"These awards provide third-party validation that our priorities are on target. In fact, Macworld and PC World took two of the three Eddie awards for best technology/computing magazines and our newest publication, CMO, received five medals." Separate Folio awards were given for editorial excellence (Eddies) and for magazine design (Ozzies). Judges selected 104 winners across consumer, business-to-business, associations, and online media.
Six IDG publications received the following awards:
— CIO: A bronze for best use of illustration for its March 15, 2005 story on "How to Save the Internet"
— CMO: A silver for design/advertising/marketing, a gold for best design – new magazine, a gold for best feature design for December 2004 "Under the Radar," a gold for best overall design, and a silver for best use of typography for February 2005 "Outer Limits"
— CSO: A bronze for best overall design and a silver for best use of digital imagery in the July 2004 article "How to Stop a Laptop Thief"
— InfoWorld: A silver for best media kit
— Macworld: A gold for the best technology/computing magazine in the US and a silver for best use of illustration
— PC World: A silver in the best technology/computing magazine category
