IT And Finance Professionals, And Software Developers Comprise 70% Of Pre-Registered Audience For New York City’s February Linuxworld Conference & Expo
Attendees From Around The World To Attend First East Coast Event
Framingham, Mass. — November 8, 1999 — IDG World Expo today announced preliminary registration demographics for the upcoming LinuxWorld Conference and Expo to be held in New York City, New York, February 1 — 4, 2000 at the Jacob Javits Convention Center. Information Technology and financial managers comprise 30 percent of the registrations and 40 percent are devoted to software and systems development. All 50 states and 23 countries will be represented in New York including Japan, Israel, India and Venezuela. LinuxWorld Conference & Expo is the premiere event for supporters, investors and enthusiasts of the Linux operating system.

To date, thousands of professionals have registered to attend the first East Coast LinuxWorld Conference and Expo stating strong interest in Internet/Intranet products, followed by Web server/management products and communications/networking products. The average annual IT/MIS budget of attending companies is over a half-million dollars — 16 percent with annual budgets of over $5 million.
Attendees represent a wide variety of companies and organizations, including AT&T, Bell Atlantic, Digital, IDG Ventures, JP Morgan, Lehman Brothers, Lockheed Martin, Lucent Technologies, Morgan Stanley and New York University.
