John Gallant Promoted to CEO and Publisher of Network World

FRAMINGHAM, MA – OCTOBER 5, 2007 – President and General Manager of Online, John Gallant, has been promoted to CEO and publisher of Network World, effective October 12. Gallant has served as president since 2001 when he was promoted from executive vice president/editorial director. He replaces Evilee Ebb who is leaving Network World after an almost 19 year career there.

Gallant helped launch Network World in 1986 and served as its first managing editor. He has been responsible for editorial for both print and online and business development for the company’s network of web sites—,, and—as well as leading its events business including the well-known DEMO conference and The Security Standard. Serving as a commentator about the technology industry, Gallant is a moderator of Network World, industry, and IT vendor events. He has been interviewed by CNN, CNBC, NPR, and Bloomberg.
