LinuxWorld Offers Basic Training In Linux And Open Source ; Novell sponsors the first-ever one-day training session for Linux “newbies” at LinuxWorld
FRAMINGHAM, MA – JULY 25, 2007 – IDG World Expo, the leading producer of world-class tradeshows and events around the globe has announced that LinuxWorld Conference & Expo® will feature a one-day training session geared exclusively toward IT professionals who are interested in Linux and open source software but haven’t fully explored it or educated themselves on how it can benefit their business. Session speakers include Donald K. Rosenberg, President of Stromian Technologies; Bdale Garbee, Open Source & Linux Chief Technologist, Hewlett-Packard; James Zemlin, CEO of the Linux Foundation; and Mike Morgan, Director of Marketing, Events, Novell.
The session will be moderated by Jon “maddog” Hall, Executive Director, Linux International. Hall serves on the boards of several companies, and several non-profit organizations, including the USENIX Association. He is a well known elder statesman of the programming community, and a leader of the open source movement. At the UK Linux and Open Source Awards 2006, Hall was honored with a Lifetime Recognition Award for his services to the open source community. Hall –holds a Master of Science in Computer Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (1977) and a Bachelor of Science in Commerce and Engineering from Drexel University (1973).
