Overview

MacWEEK.com was launched in 1995 as the electronic edition of MacWEEK magazine, and re-launched in July 1998 when MacWEEK becomes the first print publication to move its sole publishing platform online. The evolution of a successful print publishing platform that has served the Mac industry for more than 10 years, in August it becomes the largest online-only news publication dedicated exclusively to Mac managers and creative professionals. MacWEEK.com, along with Macworld Online, currently attracts nearly 100,000 unique visitors each day and over 500,000 page views each month.

In August 1998, MacWEEK magazine changes its name to become eMediaweekly. MacWEEK.com will continue to serve Mac-specific readers through an expanded online-only edition.

MacWEEK.com offers timely industry news and analysis, expert commentary, and features and lab-based reviews on the latest Mac hardware, software and peripherals. In addition, online columns and departments include the Electric Knife, the Macintosh Buyer’s Guide, MacWEEK Insider, MacInTouch and Mac/Business financial news.

Expo News

This week at the Macworld Expo in New York, MacWEEK.com launches the industry’s first and only financial news channel dedicated to covering and reporting on the Mac market from a business perspective. Mac/Business will offer stock tips and picks, a stock composite index, analysts’ forecasts, company features, details on strategic partnerships, and more — news on everything and everyone relating to Mac business.

Awards: Runner-up-Best News Story, 1998 Computer Press Awards, for "Making the Grade" a comprehensive report card on Apple Computer in the August, 4, 1997 issue.
