Macworld Conference & Expo Celebrates the “Mac Personality”; Intriguing Stories From Mac Users Will Be Featured on Web Site, at Upcoming Event
FRAMINGHAM, MA – NOVEMBER 5, 2002 – IDG World Expo, the leading producer of world-class tradeshows, conferences and events for IT markets around the globe, today announced that it will spotlight "Mac Personalities" — Mac users who have interesting Mac stories to tell or use Mac products in remarkable ways. IDG World Expo is collecting Mac user profiles to feature on the Macworld Conference & Expo Web site, as well as on-site at the upcoming Macworld Conference & Expo, taking place January 6-10, 2003 at San Francisco's Moscone Center.
IDG World Expo is now accepting Mac Personality submissions on the Macworld Conference & Expo Web site. Users can access the online form in the "Show Attractions" area of the site at www.macworldexpo.com. Those selected will be featured on the Macworld Web site and on signage at the upcoming event in San Francisco, and each will receive a Macworld Conference & Expo t-shirt. They will also be entered into a drawing to receive a 3-day conference pass for Macworld Conference & Expo/San Francisco 2003.
The Mac Personalities program debuted at Macworld Conference & Expo/New York 2002. Dozens of Mac users submitted their stories for consideration, and ultimately ten were chosen to be profiled on the Macworld Web site. Mac Personalities included Alana YellowMoon, a self-taught artist from Sheridan, Oregon who is on her fifth Mac; Greg Stovell, a Presbyterian minister who uses his Mac for online Bible studies and character modeling; and Jack Gulick, a director and producer whose iBook was indispensable while directing Gloria Gaynor's latest music video.
"This is a community filled with individuals who are fiercely loyal to their Macs," said Rob Scheschareg, vice president of sales, marketing and product development, IDG World Expo. "Over the years, we have encountered countless users who demonstrate incredible creativity with their Macs. As the largest event serving the Mac community, it's important that we celebrate the contributions these users make to the Mac community and society at large."
