Macworld Hosts Macworld Live! A Live Webcast Of News, Analysis And Product Announcements At Macworld Expo In New York, July 8-10

NEW YORK–(BUSINESS WIRE)–July 7, 1998–Mac Publishing, L.L.C., publisher of Macworld and MacWEEK magazines, will again host Macworld Live! providing attendees and cyberspace visitors with continuous coverage of the news, product announcements and events on the show floor of Macworld Expo at the Jacob Javits Convention Center in New York, July 8-10.

Macworld Live!, a radio-themed Webcast of a series of live interviews hosted from the Mac Publishing booth (booth No. 1220) in a studio audience setting, will be simultaneously broadcast over Broadcast.com, the largest broadcast network on the Internet, from the Macworld Web site. Each interview will be viewed not only by Macworld Expo attendees in the fifty-seat Macworld Live! theater, but will also be broadcast live over the Web by Broadcast.com's network of over 20,000 simultaneous feeds. In addition, the interviews will be archived and made available on the Macworld Web site for those who can't hear them live.

Each interview will feature a prominent individual from the Macintosh community paired with a Macworld or MacWEEK editor, and hosted by Rik Myslewski, Macworld contributing editor and principal and founder of Smartpeople.net, a technology testing and consulting group. Email questions will be solicited from the online "listening" audience as well as from the live studio audience.

Scheduled interviews include: Avie Tevanian, Jr. Ph.D., Senior Vice President of Software Engineering, Apple Computer; Jon Rubenstein, Senior Vice President of Hardware Engineering, Apple Computer; Tom Boger, iMac Product Line Manager, Apple Computer; Ben Waldman, General Manager, Macintosh Product Unit, Microsoft; and popular IDG Books authors, David Pogue, Bob Levitus and Lon Poole, as well as surprise guests from Apple Masters, an ensemble of Mac aficionado celebrities who include the likes of Gregory Hines and Richard Dreyfuss, among others.
