Macworld Launches Macworld Classifieds Web Site Offers Ability to Buy or Sell Used, Liquidated, or Refurbished Mac Products
SAN FRANCISCO – JULY 9, 2001- Macworld, the premier Macintosh magazine and Web site, announced the launch of Macworld Classifieds
(http://www.macworldclassifieds.com), the only Macintosh-dedicated Web site that allows anyone to buy or sell used, liquidated, or refurbished Macintosh computers and Mac-related products.
Macworld Classifieds is a real-time exchange that brings name brand retailers, small stores and individual sellers to one Web site. Buyers can
instantly compare prices between sellers and also between used, liquidated, and refurbished Mac products. In addition, buyers have the advantage of
reviewing out-the-door prices since Macworld Classifieds displays each seller's actual tax and shipping information.
Macworld, in partnership with NexTag.com, provides a standard format for easy registration, payment, or purchase to the site. Once sellers have
entered their information on the site, their products are added to the Macworld Classifieds database, where they are immediately available for
sale. Listing a product is free; a small transaction fee will be assessed after a sale is finalized. However, to promote the new site through July,
2001, all transactions will be free of charge.
"Macworld Classifieds is the next step in providing more to the Macworld community," explained Christina Gonzales, Macworld¹s Senior Web Producer.
"This unique tool allows Macworld readers to purchase at discount the products they¹ve been reading about in Macworld, while those wanting to sell
have the advantage of putting their products in front of thousands of readers who visit our Macworld sites every day."
