Macworld Nominated for Record Number of Maggie Awards
SAN FRANCISCO — 03/10/00 — Macworld, the preeminent Macintosh publication and Web site, has been nominated for an in-house record of seven prestigious Maggie awards to be presented by the Western Publications Association (WPA.) The categories are: Best Computer/Consumer Magazine, Best On-Line Publication, Best How-To Article/Consumer, Best Signed Editorial/Consumer, Best Regularly Featured Column/Consumer, Best Single Editorial Illustration/Consumer and Best Single Editorial Photograph/Consumer.
"To receive even one nomination from the WPA would be an honor. To receive seven, in such a wide array of categories, was far beyond our highest expectations," said Andy Gore, Macworld editor-in-chief. "I am extremely proud to lead such a gifted team who consistently produce top-quality content."
Winners will be announced at a gala ceremony to be held in Los Angeles on Friday, April 14, 2000.
