Network World and AFCOM Join Forces to Launch the New Data Center Awards

SOUTHBOROUGH, MA – FEBRUARY 21, 2005 – Awards to Honor People and Companies That Demonstrate Superior Vision and Innovation Network World, Inc., the leading network IT media company, has joined forces with AFCOM, the leading association for data center professionals, to create an awards program that honors innovative Network IT professionals and cutting-edge data centers. Awards winners will be announced at AFCOM's 25th annual Data Center World Conference to be held in Las Vegas April 17 through 21. Winners will be announced in the May 23 edition of Network World's New Data Center editorial supplement.

Awards will be given in three categories:

DATA CENTER MANAGER OF THE YEAR – This award will recognize the information technology manager who has blended vision and practicality in designing, building and/or consolidating data centers to meet business goals.

DATA CENTER OF THE YEAR – This award will showcase the company whose data center serves as a shining example of the innovative marriage of new and existing technologies and the adoption of the best practices for data center design and operation.

SECURE DATA CENTER AWARD – This award will recognize the company that has changed the security paradigm and built a flexible, impenetrable data center that can withstand internal and external threats.
