Network World Announces 16th Annual User Excellence Award Competition

SOUTHBOROUGH, MA – July 12, 2000-Network World, the Leader in Network Knowledge, is now accepting entries for its 2000 User Excellence Award competition. Through the award, Network World each year honors organizations using network technology in innovative and effective ways to further corporate goals. Nomination forms are available on Network World Fusion Winners will be featured in Network World's annual Best Issue, a Network World Signature Series supplement, on November 13, and the overall winner will be honored at a special awards ceremony at the ComNet Conference in Washington, D.C., early next year.

"This year's User Excellence Award competition carries on a long tradition of honoring IT Professionals for jobs well done. The award takes on even greater meaning today because now, more than ever, there is widespread recognition that technology can make or break a company," said Beth Schultz, Executive Editor of Network World's Signature Series. "We know this realization has translated into business-transforming network projects, and we look forward to honoring the people responsible for these undertakings."

Submissions are evaluated based on the business case, technology choice, and costs and benefits. Organizations will be judged on how their networks mesh with business goals. And, this year, organizations will be asked how their undertaking differs from or expands on what user organizations in their industry have done with network technology. Winners will be picked

from a variety of industries, such as financial services, health care and manufacturing.

Previous winners have included such prestigious companies and organizations as American Airlines, Duke University, Eli Lilly, First Boston, Ford Motor, Hyatt, Prudential, and Olsten Staffing Services.
