Network World Fusion Re-Design Boosts Research Capabilities
SOUTHBOROUGH, MA – JULY 30, 2002 – Keeping pace with the way Network IT Executives want information delivered online, Network World, Inc. today announced the re-design of its award-winning online companion Network World Fusion (http://www.nwfusion.com). The new architecture streamlines NWFusion's robust content and offers users quick access to key research and information needed during the decision-making process, while providing a more compelling environment for advertisers.
"The new site design does a better job of serving our visitors and delivering the relevant content Network IT Executives need to make the best possible decisions while creating network strategies and formulating purchase plans," stated Alonna Doucette, VP of online services. "The new design also allows our advertising community to more effectively target and introduce their products and services to this growing audience of users during the buying process."
Network World Fusion is organized around key network topics. IT professionals can access information by three broad channel topics: corporate networks, service provider networking or remote networking or through one of 60 technology-specific index pages, from application development to WAN services. Drawing from the Network World publication, original NWFusion content and the IDG News Service, each index page features breaking news, opinions, reviews, newsletters, training, white papers, analysis and more. Many pages also feature links to in-depth resource pages that gather additional information from around the Web.
Adam Gaffin, Fusion online editor remarked, "One of NWFusion's strengths has always been the depth of its content – not just articles from the print publication, but all of the original online-only content. The new design allows users to take full advantage of our content-rich site by giving them a single place to quickly link to all relevant resources."
Other new features include a revamped site search engine that lets users conduct broad searches across the entire site or narrow the search by key areas and topics. With the redesign, Network World Fusion also introduces a range of topic-specific XML-based Rich Site Summary feeds that lets users easily integrate NWFusion headlines with their intranet or Web site.
The leader in network knowledge, Network World Fusion has received 17 editorial awards since 2000, including two recent awards from ASBPE for "Interactive Community" and "Original Web Commentary."
