Network World Live Launches DEMOworld Conference Series; First DEMOworld Event to Be Held in China
SOUTHBOROUGH, MA – FEBRUARY 8, 2006 – Network World Live, producer of the technology industry's DEMO conferences, today announced the international launch of the DEMOworld platform. DEMOworld delivers the concept of the United States' top-notch, highly selective DEMO conference to countries around the globe, creating a network of exceptional technology launch venues. The first DEMOworld event will be held in China and will bring the premier DEMO emerging technology platform to the world's largest emerging marketplace.
"Events like DEMO are why I established IDG: to bring together smart people, amazing innovations, and actionable content that spurs the technology industry," said Pat McGovern, founder and chairman of International Data Group. "I am particularly pleased that our first DEMOworld outside the U.S. is in China where we have been a market leader in IT media, Websites, research, and events over the past 25 years."
"DEMO is a world-class event — the best in the industry and an enviable launch venue for emerging technology startups around the world," says Neal Silverman, Executive Vice President of Network World Events. "I'm thrilled to announce that the first DEMOworld conference will be in China, as a result of a partnership between Network World Live and IDG China. DEMOworld China will be held at the beautiful Boao Golden Cost Hot Spring Hotel in southern China's Hannan Province in September 2006."
DEMOworld China will be hosted by a team of experts, trusted in the Chinese market for their insight and understanding of what makes new technology successful. This expert team will be responsible for hosting the conference, as well as working with the event team to identify, evaluate and select the demonstrators for the program. The team of experts will include a top research analyst from IDC China or Asia, an IT journalist, and a representative from China's Association for Science & Technology.
Just as with the original DEMO in the United States, DEMOworld events will feature six-minute stage presentations and a demonstrator pavilion showcasing the top 60-70 emerging technology products and services newly launched into the marketplace. DEMOworld China is anticipating a mix of both Chinese and overseas technology innovations to launch at the September event to an audience made up of in-country and international journalists, investors, corporate development officers, resellers and distributors.
"The DEMO community is a vibrant network, fueled by a mutual respect for the technology industry and a commitment to supporting innovations that further technological progress," continued Silverman. "The launch of the DEMOworld conference series is an important step in diversifying our network and recognizing the global effect of business and IT in today's world."
