New Independent Study Shows IDG Reaches the Greatest Number Of Technology Buyer
BOSTON, MA – OCTOBER 8, 2001 – Again this year, the Millward Brown IntelliQuest CIMS study has found that International Data Group (IDG) publications reach more technology purchase influencers than those of any other media company. The recently released Computer Industry Media Study (CIMS) v. 8.0 found that IDG publications, including CIO, Computerworld, InfoWorld, Network World, PC World, and Macworld, reach double the number of technology influencers than the publications of Ziff Davis and CMP.
The independent study found that IDG publications have more top-ranking publications than any other media company, holding more than a third of the top 15 positions. IDG's PC World was ranked as the leading technology publication among technology publications and business magazines for technology purchases. Most important, IDG publications reach the greatest number of the most influential technology influencers-those 4.3 million professionals who are involved in purchasing more than $500,000 a year on technology products and services-with a combined reach of 36 percent, compared to 24 percent for Ziff Davis and 23 percent for CMP. IDG also has the largest reach among IT professionals, with the combined reach by IDG publications surpassing 50 percent of the IT influencer segment-far greater than either CMP or Ziff Davis.
