New Linux, Open Source Products Set To Make Their Debut At LinuxWorld

FRAMINGHAM, MA – JANUARY 22, 2002 – IDG World Expo, the leading producer of world-class tradeshows, conferences and events for IT markets, announced today that agenda-setting Linux and Open Source companies will be on hand at LinuxWorld Conference & Expo to showcase the latest technologies and solutions for the enterprise. LinuxWorld Conference & Expo is scheduled for January 29 – February 1, 2002 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City. LinuxWorld Conference & Expo's exhibit floor will open on January 30.

LinuxWorld will kick off with an opening keynote address by Hewlett-Packard Company Chairman and CEO Carly Fiorina, who will discuss the company's support for Linux, as well as new Linux initiatives. Computer Associates' Sanjay Kumar, president and CEO, and IBM's William Zeitler, Server Group senior vice president and group executive, will also present keynotes outlining added support for Linux.

Eicon Networks (booth 2233), a proven leader in WAN connectivity, which will showcase the Eicon 1530 WAN Router, which connects IP based Ethernet LANs to central high-end routers using leased-line PPP, Frame Relay or X.25 connections

NuSphere (booth 1046), which will showcase a new Linux-based version of its award-winning NuSphere PHPEd product, an IDE that integrates the scripting language PHP and a comprehensive set of editing, debugging and deployment tools to speed development time by up to 75 percent and significantly reduce time-to-market; as Linux's growth continues, this new GUI widens the market for NuSphere to allow its development environment to run on this popular open source operating system

Platform Computing (booth 620), a leader in distributed computing, which will announce a new Linux cluster management solution

Red Hat, Inc. (booth 1921), which will demonstrate a beta version of a major new server product

StorCase Technology (booth 2018), which will be showcasing their second-generation InfoStation II 14-bay storage chassis, a fully redundant enclosure with single or dual active-active RAID controllers for advanced SCSI Ultra160 or Fibre Channel applications used in network server, fault-tolerant and mission-critical applications

Ximian (booth 1639), which will present its new information and software management solutions for Linux, including Ximian Evolution and the companion Ximian Connector for Microsoft Exchange, which allows it to function as a client for Microsoft Exchange 2000; Ximian will also show Red Carpet CorporateConnect, a custom, hosted solution enabling companies to update and manage software and control versions on their Linux systems
