New Product Achievement Awards Presented At Special ComNet Ceremony; Ten Winners Announced

WASHINGTON, DC — 01/27/2000 — ComNet Show Organizers, in conjunction with InfoWorld Magazine and industry authority Michael Dortch, presented the prestigious New Product Achievement Awards to nine industry leading companies last night in a jam-packed special ceremony.

Capturing the top "Judges Choice Grand Prize" was MiraLink Corporation for its MiraLink Off-Site Server. A special "Honorable Mention" in this category was bestowed upon Unisphere Solutions, Inc. for its Unisphere Service Ready Networking Architecture and Unisphere Management Center.

The packed ceremony was hosted by Dortch, Senior Research Analyst of the Robert Frances Group, InfoWorld Magazine publisher Bob Maund and ComNet Show Director Don Berey. The event characterized the excitement and enthusiasm surrounding these industry-renowned awards.

"The ComNet New Product Achievement Awards combine the expert opinions of world-class editors and analysts with the most valuable opinions in the industry – those of real-life networking users and buyers," said Dortch, Project Coordinator for the Awards, "Each finalist and winner truly represents the `best and brightest' of the ComNet show."

A panel of industry experts, including leading analysts, editors, consultants and users carefully reviews the entries and selects up to three product finalists in each of eight categories, The Awards are then determined by the wide cross-section of the communications/networking industry that attends ComNet. The finalists are displayed in a special Showcase area in the Convention Center's main lobby where several thousand attendees view the finalists and see special product demonstrations on the show floor.

"What makes these awards especially meaningful is that they are selected and voted on by the people whose business they directly impact," said Don Berey, ComNet Show Director. "Over the last nine years they have grown to become the most sought after awards in the communications and networking industries."

InfoWorld magazine sponsors the New Product Achievement Awards and works closely with ComNet to identify the companies and products that should be considered for recognition.
