New `Special Interest Boulevard’ Creates Buzz at Macworld Conference & Expo

FRAMINGHAM, MA — NOVEMBER 28, 2000 — IDG World Expo today announced plans to provide a showcase for up-and-coming companies and cutting-edge technologies by creating a "Special Interest Boulevard" at Macworld Conference & Expo. The event is slated for January 9 – 12, 2001 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco.

The Special Interest Boulevard is the latest example of innovative trade show management that has made IDG World Expo a leader in the IT industry. The Special Interest Boulevard affords smaller companies prominent exposure at an economical cost at Macworld Conference & Expo. For attendees, the Special Interest Boulevard is a convenient, quick and easy way to learn more about a large number of diverse companies and technologies organized in specific industry areas.

"Macworld Conference & Expo is proud to offer companies a new platform to showcase their products and services," said Charlie Greco, president and CEO, IDG World Expo, owners and managers of the event. "These developers have products that are targeted to the specific needs and interests of certain Mac users. The Special Interest Boulevard will be a real magnet for attendees. With participation limited to 100 companies, we're encouraging exhibitors to act quickly."

The Special Interest Boulevard exhibitor categories include: digital media solutions; small business applications; hardware and software for mathematicians and scientists; educational and assistive technology tools; 3D-development software; and new "edutainment" products.

"Special Interest Boulevard will feature some of the hottest niche products at the show," said Rob Scheshareg, VP of events, IDG World Expo. "Macworld attendees can explore next generation digital media editing and storage applications, or hear about major advancements being made in 3D. Or see software and hardware solutions used to assist students with disabilities. The Boulevard is destined to be one of the most highly-trafficked areas of the expo floor."

As the leading IT tradeshow management company, IDG World Expo has created many winning attractions and events for Macworld Conference & Expo. The popular Digital Art Gallery, featuring 30 original portraits created on the Mac, is returning for the third straight year. Other innovative additions to the event are the Music and Audio Showcase and a live concert series, both of which accentuate the musical and audio prowess of "the Mac in action."

"At IDG World Expo, we pride ourselves on finding great opportunities for our exhibitors, and our attendees," said Greco. "We're confident the Boulevard will generate quite a buzz at Macworld Conference & Expo."
