PC World Announces Revamped Shop & Compare Section on PCWorld.Com
SAN FRANCISCO, CA – March 26, 2008 – PC World recently launched a completely overhauled Shop & Compare section on PCWorld.com ( http://www.pcworld.com/shopping ) where buyers can find all the resources they need to make smart technology purchasing decisions. With its user-friendly interface, the updated section displays lab results, editor and user reviews, better quality product images, and detailed merchant information. The section allows shoppers to quickly find the best deals on the products they’re looking to buy. Under the Shop & Compare header, users can easily find the most popular technology products available today including HDTVs, laptops, printers, and digital cameras.
The new Shop & Compare section also helps shoppers and technology enthusiasts browse for almost 300,000 products across a variety of technology categories such as computers, peripherals, software, and electronics. The section features over one million user reviews to help buyers make informed purchasing decisions.
PCWorld.com beta-tested the redesigned shopping section and used feedback from its community to further improve the features and design. Other updates to the Shop & Compare section include:
* Product recommendations based on extensive lab test results from PC World’s editorial team
* User ratings and reviews of products
* Product specifications and manufacturer’s description pages
* Merchant reviews that reveal how other shoppers rate a given retailer
* Larger product images to improve browsing
* Rebate offers on qualifying products
* More prominent display ad opportunities
“The newly designed Shop & Compare section helps consumers easily find and purchase today’s most popular technology products,” said David Lake, Business Development Manager of PC World and Macworld. “The great mix of PC World’s award-winning editorial, buying guides, user reviews, retailer ratings, and pricing information gives users a one-stop destination for their technology product research and buying needs.”
