PC World Recognized as Best Consumer Technology/Computing Magazine at the 2007 Folio: Awards ; Award-Winning Publication also Takes Home Silver Award for Best Single Article
SAN FRANCISCO, CA – OCTOBER 2, 2007 – At the Folio: Awards ceremony recently held in New York, PC World took home a Gold Eddie award in the “Best Consumer Technology/Computing” (full issue) category. Factors for consideration included creativity, design/production, and the magazine’s cover. PC Worldalso received a silver Eddie for “Best Single Article” for “The 10 Biggest Security Risks You Don’t Know About.” The Eddie Awards are judged by how well a publication and site lives up to its own editorial mission and the quality of their content.
“It’s thrilling to see that we’re consistently regarded as one of the most outstanding technology publications out there,” said PC World VP/Editor-in-Chief Harry McCracken. “Winning these two awards demonstrates our continued commitment to providing our readers with a magazine they can rely on for the most relevant information about the products they connect with. Our goal has always been to produce a magazine that continually evolves to meet the ever-changing needs of our audience, and through the hard work and dedication of the editors, designers, and Test Center, we have yet again attained that goal.”
PC World’s authoritative service journalism helps readers make informed buying decisions about a growing array of products. In PC World’s award-winning article, “The 10 Biggest Security Risks You Don’t Know About,” PC World editors revealed the newest security perils and how to avoid them. Complete with a list of the ten most dangerous threats out there and advice on what can be done to prevent major catastrophes, the article examined all levels of PC users and emphasized the importance of taking any necessary precautionary measures.
