‘PC World’s Digital Duo’ Public Television Series Currently in Production

SAN FRANCISCO, March 15, 2005 – Today, PC World, the most widely-read computer or business magazine, announced the rebirth of the 'Digital Duo' television show, now known as 'PC World's Digital Duo.' This guide to all things digital will provide commentary on business and consumer technology products and services in an entertaining, educational manner. The series is currently in production in Seattle and will be available for broadcast by public television stations throughout the country in April.

'PC World's Digital Duo' will adhere to the format that made the original 'Digital Duo' a success: exploring the world of consumer electronics and digital technology while offering real world advice. In the series remake, returning host and tech expert Stephen Manes will team with veteran web ethics and product authority Angela Gunn. The on-air chemistry between the hosts, their differing opinions on the products and services reviewed, and their fair and unbiased observations will keep the program dynamic and engaging. Commentary will be augmented with guest appearances by PC World editors.

With over two decades as a technology journalist, Manes is widely known as one of the most experienced and influential voices in the digital world. He writes the monthly "Full Disclosure" column for PC World as well as the "Digital Tools" column in Forbes and was formerly the "Personal Computers" columnist for The New York Times. "I'm thrilled to be hosting 'PC World's Digital Duo,'" said Manes. "I look forward to providing the unique, independent, and irreverent look at technology that made 'Digital Duo' so popular the first time around."

Her latest book, Ping! The Yahoo! Instant Messaging Guide to All Things IM, will be published in July 2005.

'PC World's Digital Duo' will also have a presence on the award-winning web site PCWorld.com, which reaches an average of over 5.3 million unique visitors per month (1). Produced by Incandescent Entertainment in association with PC World, the series will be distributed through Executive Program Services. The inaugural season of 52 30-minute episodes (26 new and 26 refreshed) is underwritten by BenQ (http://www.benq.us/), CDW(R) (http://www.cdw.com/), and DLP(TM), a Texas Instruments Technology (http://www.dlp.com/). Each underwriter will receive on-air spots; a fourth underwriter position remains open.

The original 'Digital Duo' was in production from 1999-2001 and reached 75% of the national markets. During this two-year period it was the most watched technology television series. Episodes still aired on 35% of all PBS stations through early 2002.
